Journal #5
Chapters 13-15
Perspective: Scout

Dear Journal,
Ough, lots of things have been going on I just wish I could be young once again I would give any compensation to someone who could make time go back. Now that I'm older I understand more, and in some occasions I just wish I didn't. For example my brother Jem... We were really close to each other, but now that "he's becoming a young gentleman," we don't play as much. Atticus is putting us through a bad situation, but he can't do anything about it. That's the Tom Robinson case. Everyone seems to be mad at him. For example just the other night a crowd of mad men were knocking in our door. That usually never happens in Maycomb, except when there's a death or political issue. In this case they all came to tell Atticus that him defending Tom was something bad. But my daddy believes Tom is innocent and that's why hes trying to serve justice by defending him even though at time he looks pensive. This is not the only problem going on with our family. Aunt Alexandra is another problem. She tries to make me act like a lady. Shes trying to take our moms spot, but actually Cal's spot. Cal to me is a mother to Jem and me. She always takes care of us, feed us and give us some kind of love. I guess Aunt Alexandra is just so focused in trying to take Cal's spot, that it has become annoying now to a point that I feel like im going to emerge.Ithink Aunt Alexandra should just be preoccupied with something else, other than trying to change me. It seems to me that Cal is very infallible that she is good at doing her job. It's just a lot of bad things that has been going on now, that the only thing I seem to like is that Dill is back in Maycomb. :)
